Agnes Alana August, the CEO, Founder, and Chief Operator, created the name “ZEJABET” by combining the names of her four grandchildren. Hailing from Ghana, West Africa, she aims to be an inspiration for all women who have faced hardships or similar circumstances as she did.
“I was a rape victim,” Agnes courageously shared. “That is why these projects are dear to my heart.” ZEJABET’s mission is deeply rooted in her personal experience, and she firmly believes in providing support and care for all children, regardless of the circumstances of their birth. “No child is a biological mistake,” she proudly declares, “it does not matter if it’s a result of rape, marriage, or a promiscuous encounter; that child deserves love.”
ZEJABET initially started in Ghana as a registered non-governmental organization, providing assistance and support to teenage parents who were unprepared for the challenges of the real world. “We at ZEJABET recognized a need and wanted to step up to serve,” she said. The plight of young and unprepared parents in the third world has led to significant difficulties, with some even resorting to ending their own lives. ZEJABET took action by creating custom children’s clothes to donate to these young parents and also sold additional clothing to the community. The profits from these sales were utilized to support teenage parents and their children. Additionally, ZEJABET offers valuable skills training to the young parents, enabling them to earn a living and provide for their children.
In 2015, ZEJABET relocated to Las Vegas and officially became a registered local business in 2020. The plan is for ZEJABET to make its mark at the MAGIC trade show in August 2023.
Looking to the future, ZEJABET aims to play an active role in supporting struggling parents and helping the homeless by providing opportunities for them to become self-sufficient. In partnership with a prominent Las Vegas couturier, ZEJABET plans to establish a school for young, talented, aspiring designers. “We will nurture home-grown designers, overseeing the entire process from design to production, professional photography, and modeling. At ZEJABET, everything is about fashion.”
Agnes Alana August expressed her belief that if she were homeless, she would welcome any helping hand to lift her up, even if it required multiple chances. She firmly believes in the boundless grace and mercy of God and intends to uphold these values at ZEJABET.
ZEJABET also plans to establish a “Community Home” that will differ from standard soup kitchens and temporary shelters, aiming to eliminate issues related to drugs and indecent behavior. The goal is for ZEJABET to be a beacon of hope, reigniting determination in those individuals who once dreamed of a better life but lost hope.
